Exultation

The next verse of today's verse implores us to have the mind of Christ. To have the mind of Christ is to be ready and willing to sacrifice our comforts for the sake of others. Last week my wife Jane was admitted in a hospital in Nairobi after the doctors discovered a clot in one of the veins in her cuff muscles. She is now recovering at home and we believe that God has already healed her. The previous sunday before she fell ill I had preached at our Church a sermon that exalted members to be ready to do anything, even to die, for the sake of the Gospel. Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego (Daniel 3) were ready to die rather than bow to a graven image. As a result of their standing firm, God was glorified as King nebuchadnezzar ordered everyone in the province of Babylon to worship no other God but the God of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego. Last Sunday as I gave the testimony of my wife's healing, the members in our Church were very encouraged. God used jane to show us that even when we fall sick, He can still heal us. The difficulties and the suffering you go through at times are meant to help others see things clearly and glorify God. Are you ready to offer your life as a lesson so that others may look at you and become better people? There are times we need to get out of our comfort zones and what-is-in-it- for-me mentality in order to achieve a greater good for all. Jesus did it! So can you!
