Todays quote
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Action is the foundational key to all success. - Anthony Robbins
Todays verse
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If we say, we will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we
shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and
let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live;
and if they kill us, we shall but die. - 2 Kings 7:4
Exultation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is a Chinese saying that goes: a journey of a thousand miles begins with
one step. How true! That crucial first step into the unknown separates winners
from losers. It does not matter how grandiose your dreams are unless you are
ready to take that first step into your future. History has judged fairly those
that went out on a limb, irrespective of mitigating circumstances, and made that
crucial first step into the unknown. These people demonstrated that the ability
to take the first step is all that is required to attain greatness. Like the two
lepers who found themselves sandwiched between the famine in the city on one
hand, and the army of the Syrians on the other, you will at times be faced with
situations that require you to make a decision fast. There comes a time in our
lives when we must act expediently by taking a leap into the unknown. You must
be ready and willing to set sail into uncharted waters - otherwise you will
never know what lies across the sea. The two lepers knew they would die anyway
even if they stayed where they were. Rather than die of hunger, they decided to
march into the enemy's camp and beg for food. They were aware that the worst
that could have happened to them if they fell into the hands of the Syrians was
death. Since staying where they were or going back into the famished city would
have handed them the same sentence, they decided to dare all and marched right
into the enemy's camp. Of course when they got there they found that the enemy
had fled - leaving behind tons of food and other valuables. After having their
fill, they rushed back to the famished city and announced the good news to all.
What are you waiting for? Get off your laurels and take action today! Have a
decisive day! - Innocent Mwangi
