Todays
quote
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are no wrong ways of saying something. Until you realize that a leopard
cannot change his spots, you will be afraid to be wrong. Excuses defend self-
righteousness. Self cannot dare look bad, so it looks for a defence, a cover, a
shadow in which to hide itself. - Rita Allin
Today's
verse
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? - Jeremiah 13:23
Exultation
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There is a Swahili saying that goes: 'Ukishikwa, shikamana'. When the truth
finally catches up with you, don't duck, surrender! In a world that crucifies
those that admit their wrong, more and more people are refusing to own up to
their failures and follies. To be wrong does not mean that we are any less
human. In fact it is said that to err is human, yet so many times we scorn those
that make mistakes, as though we are ourselves immune from error. When you do
something wrong, admit it and ask for forgiveness, then make a clean start.
There is another Swahili saying that goes: 'kosa si kosa, kosa ni kukosa kukosoa
kosa'. Indirectly translated, this means that making a mistake is not a mistake
in itself. The mistake comes when one refuses to correct that mistake. Let me
keep it simple: do not be afraid to admit your wrong - but don't repeat the
wrong. Always look for another chance to correct the wrong that you did. Denying
your wrong does not take it away - accept it and move on. Have an honest day! -
